06 May COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream – 2020 Review
Recently, I started to search for more Korean sunscreens after my first success with the Missha Essence Sun Milk which is a chemical sunscreen for skincare. To make an accurate comparison, I was looking forward to trying a physical sunscreen. So far, I’ve realized that I’m indifferent about the filters used in the sunscreens & I am more worried about the several sunscreens I can use in different conditions.
While on the hunt for a physical sunscreen, I came across the best Korean sunscreen that is Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream which happens to be one of the best. When I bought it, I didn’t even know much about that. All I knew was that one of its ingredients is Aloe Vera so it had to be moisturizing and I trusted COSRX as a brand.
First Glance of the Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream
According to COSRX,
Prepared with Aloe Arborescence Leaf Extract, The daily soothing sun block is so lightweight that it feels like a moisturizer and it does not leave any white cast on skin.
Overview
This is a moisturizing hybrid sunscreen. This means that it uses both chemical and physical filters, so you get the best of both worlds. If you are not sure what to go for and just starting out with sunscreens, I suggest you start with this. This product will give you a feel of how an ideal sunscreen should seem.
Consistency & Texture
The Cosrx Aloe Soothing Suncream has a creamier texture that applies like a moisturizer as compared to the Missha Essence Sun Milk which has a milky texture.
During the summer, I started to use it and I did not need to use a moisturizer in fact, I created a TikTok video for a two-step morning routine where I just hydrated my face with a toner and applied the SPF (sun protection factor). For most of the summer, I used this routine until I had to layer a serum and moisturizer at the beginning of autumn.
You can feel the creaminess after application because it has a lightweight consistency. It doesn’t instantly absorb and disappear into your skin. Until it is slowly absorbed after a few hours it sits on your skin a bit. Usually, I never feel it anymore when I take it off at the end of the day.
It’s also not sticky or anything. It’s such a nice pleasant experience.
Price
It is affordable and easily accessible like most Korean sunscreens. You can get it on here as little as £14.
Ingredient List
This sunscreen uses Titanium Dioxide as a physical filter, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid, Isoamyl p-Methoxycinnamate as chemical filters and Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine.
This product also uses Glycerin and Aloe Vera extract to soothe and moisturize the skin but the drawback of this sunscreen is that it is formulated with Fragrance and Alcohol. If your skin is like mine and is indifferent to either of those skincare sins, you should definitely give this sunscreen a shot & it is worth trying out. Also, it is cheap so there is really nothing to use.
Review of Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream
There is no such thing as too much sunscreen especially since most of us are guilty of not applying nearly sufficient. Fortunately, there are satisfying sunscreens on the market now so we have no excuse to not apply sufficient sun protection factor.
This sun cream comes in a 60 ml tube that lasts quite a while and I have used it every day for about six weeks now and I have about a quarter left.
What I Do
Depending on the season, to apply it all over my face, I use the two-finger sunscreen rule. I skip my moisturizer and apply it alone during the warmer season. In the cold season, I layer it with other hydrating and moisturizing products and use it as the last step.
This product gives my skin a nice glow and most importantly, it does not leave a WHITE CAST!
In Conclusion,
This product is a very well beginner-friendly hybrid sunscreen and it’s affordable, accessible, and doesn’t leave a white cast. COSRX as a brand makes such amazing products that have easily become a staple in my skincare regimen. Trust me, there is a reason why this brand is popular globally and glowing the skins for attractive looks.
